Who are we?

SGPC was founded in 1983 ago by a small group of counsellors interested in training as psychotherapists.

Over the years SGPC has developed into a larger organisation which provides continuing professional development, for its members. It has around 90 members who regularly enjoy spending time and exchanging ideas with like minded professionals. We invite nationally known speakers to give lectures, seminars and workshops. In recent years Darian Leader, Judith Woodhead, Julia Buckroyd and Dorothy Rowe have all visited and delivered stimulating and thoughtful lectures.

SGPC encourages members to take an active and responsible role in the organisation and to be aware of the wider implications of their practice, both in the community and nationally.

Members are psychotherapists and counsellors, who practice within the Solent and West Sussex areas.
