Join The Solent Group for Psychotherapists and Counsellors

The Solent Group for Psychotherapists and Counsellors welcomes applications for membership.

Membership is open to all qualified psychotherapists, counsellors, and for others who are working as practitioners in the psychotherapeutic field.  The only restriction placed upon membership is that applicants should not be in ongoing therapy with any other existing member of the group.

Membership costs just £20 each year. In the next year we have a range of speakers coming including Anna Bravesmith on brief psychotherapy, Gunn Isaksson-Hurst on using narrative in treating addiction and David Hewison on working with couples.

Most of the meetings, unless otherwise stated, are held at the Friends Meeting House in Chichester. Meetings usually begin with a shared lunch, from 1pm, which is an opportunity to meet and chat informally with other members of the group. Members are welcome to come to the lunch or come for the lecture, which starts at about 2pm. The lecture usually lasts about an hour and a half, with a half-hour break for tea and cake followed by an hour's discussion, finishing at 5pm.

Enquiries about membership and applications can be made either via this page or by telephone to the membership secretary, Clare Manuel.

If your reply is ‘YES’ to either of the above, regretfully you will be asked to wait a minimum of 6 months after finishing this relationship before re-applying.

Applicants must be proposed by a current member of the SGPC and the proposer is asked to sign and print their name below.
